Landing a job as a Product Manager is difficult, especially without any formal experience. Often, connecting with other Product Managers is a valuable and insightful experience.
Sefunmi Osinaike wrote How To Product as a guide for new Product Managers breaking into the industry. Through researching the various routes individuals break into product from, he found the commonly shared challenges of breaking into Product. He did this with the help of 40 PMs from Google, Shopify, Coursera and various other top companies. I had a chance to sit down with Sefunmi and share my journey into Product so that my experience could be featured as a chapter in this guide.
The book outlines everything from the desire to break into Product, the challenges faced in the transition, tips to inspire new PMs and all the way down to the interview prep required.
In addition to being featured in one of the chapters, Sefunmi also enlisted my editing services (listed under the “writing” tab for a full structural and line-by-line edits.
The book took 16 months to write and within days it was rated #1 in Product Hunt, with an average rating of 5/5.
